We took advantage of a beautiful sunny Sunday and headed off to Parque Jaime Duque, a themed park developed by Jaime Duque Grisales, the first Colombian pilot occupying the General Headquarters of Avianca pilots and in 4 years he replaced all expat pilots for Colombian nationals. Jaime Duque wanted to leave an important Colombian cultural and recreational center, which in turn would generate resources to support the less fortunate in society. The park contains a 1:1 scale reproduction of the Taj Mahal, a zoo, and other themed attractions, mostly for children. It was a great day out, and also spelled our last weekend with our wonderful friends, Alejandra and Tom before they packed their bags and relocated to Vancouver, Canada.
